The third drive
After arriving back in New York we started the drive to Florida, van packed to the brim. The first stop was Asheville North Carolina, a comfortable little place tucked away in the mountains.
While there we saw Tom Waits perform. He huffed and he puffed and he shook and he wheezed and put on a really great show, it was well worth the drive.
While there, we stayed at this hostle (two below) run by this guy (one below) who was beyond friendly and helpful. I recommend it to anyone. (Just don't ask for directions from this guy unless they are very simple)
We stopped in Savannah and Gainesville to see friends and arrived in Tampa.
Here are the boots worn by Tom Thumb.

Banksy...maybe
I'm not sure if this is an original banksy; if it's not it's a wonderful imitation of his style. This showed up in Williamsburg shortly before I moved. I just visited his web site for the first time in a while. He has some videos up now, one of the "installation" in the Brooklyn Museum. Worth checking out.

the first and second drive
I headed to Iowa with an arsenal of David Sedaris audio books and then back to New York.
In Iowa City I bumped into this guy on the street and he insisted that I photograph his arm. It was very difficult to understand him. I'm guessing he wanted me to photograph his scar, why he wanted to wrap himself around the tree I'm not sure.
