For anyone in Des Moines

I have a small group of photos in a show at the Des Moines Art Center (the downtown one) It's Called Iowa Artists 2006: There's No Place Like Home. It's a 10 person show of people from around Iowa. Among them is also the wise and skilled Aaron Wilson my former teacher, a printmaking teacher at the University of Northern Iowa. He installed an abbreviated version of his installation Parlor that was shown at UNI this last fall. It's a pretty and compelling piece of work. Stop by if you can.

This is a picture of the catalogue from one version of Aaron's Parlor

Well, once I stopped e-mailing Craigslist and started wandering I finally got a job. I'm working at this vintage clothing store in the Village Called "Star Struck." It's a nice little place owned by a man named Joe and his daughter. Aside from being relieved, I've been eating a lot of crepes and watching the occasional "Law and Order."

My first world premiere...complete with free candy cigarettes and wax lips.

I've become fascinated with graffiti on subway posters...what gets marked and what stays untouched. Also, how it's impossible not to revert back to second grade in terms of subject matter. I'm not saying it's not amusing. Generally pretty girls get worked over the most.

this one is great

Apparently the image from this "Silent Hill" poster sets some sort of record for failing to go untouched anywhere. But, really, that photoshoped mouth is just too much to resist.
